God’s Special Creation

Psalm 33 NLT

The Lord merely spoke…and the Heavens were created

He breathed the word…and all the stars were born

When he spoke…the world began

It appeared at his command

———

God is Creator of all…the land, the sea, all living creatures

Most important of all living creatures is us

Humans, created by the hand of God to worship him and praise his name

Special in his sight…each and everyone of us

Created to be unique and in His own image

He created our hearts, so he understands everything we do

He is the Master of all He has created, yet he cares enough to know and understand us

He cared enough to send His son Jesus

To die and be our Savior.

How much more could someone love us, then to die for us?

Midnight Musings

Wow, A world gone awry! What a suprise. Is this a new development or is it like Solomon says in Ecclesiastes:

“Generations come and generations go, but the earth never changes. The sun rises and the sun sets, then hurries around to rise again. The wind blows south, and then turns north. Around and around it goes, blowing in circles. Rivers run into the sea, but the sea is never full. Then the water returns again to the rivers and flows out again to the sea. Everything is wearisome beyond description. No matter how much we see, we are never satisfied. No matter how much we hear, we are not content.  History merely repeats itself. It has all been done before. Nothing under the sun is truly new. Sometimes people say, “Here is something new!” But actually it is old; nothing is ever truly new. We don’t remember what happened in the past, and in future generations, no one will remember what we are doing now. (Ecclesiastes 1:4-11 NLT)

People dying of hunger, prostitutes in the streets, orphans, widows… all have been around for centuries. This is not new. This is history repeating itself, over and over like a broken record.

God gave us the responsibility to help them, feed them, clothe them.
To be His hands and His feet. Shining light into a dark and sad world that will only be healed when Jesus comes back again.

Who will help the lost and lonely? It is time to remember the past and make a difference so that future generations can learn from us and see how we are helping now to make a better future for all.

Will you?

Silence

Foretold in Isaiah 53

Image by Gregory Heath via Flickr

He was despised, and we did not care

He was wounded and crushed for our sins

He was beaten that we might have peace

He was whipped, and we were healed

He was oppressed and treated harshly, yet he never said a word

He was led as a lamb to the slaughter

And as a sheep is silent before the shearers, he did not open his mouth

But who among us realized that he was dying for our sins – that He was suffering our punishment?

He had done no wrong

He never deceived anyone

But he was buried like a criminal….

–Adapted from from Isaiah 53

To be silent in the midst of struggles

To not complain when tough times hit

Who has asked to God, “Why me?”

Who has said they are thankful in difficult times?

Who  has suffered as Christ suffered, yet remained silent?

Have you?
